What are the latest trends for 2023? Interior design trends come and go, and you may start seeing on TV or in some of the blogs this time of year what's in and what’s out. So let's talk about that. Here are five things to look for in 2023:

1. Curved furniture. We're going to start seeing more curved design furniture and accessories. So not as many straight backs in our furniture design.

2. Bright and playful colors. We've had such a neutral palette for the last few years. Seeing some color is going to be sort of fun. One thing I will say, though, is we've had such a trend of having cool tones in the grays: We are still seeing gray. It's just more of a warm color. We're seeing that play out in new construction and staging. We're just seeing more of the warm, neutral colors.

3. Warm and natural textures. That's what we're seeing in some of the fabrics. We're also seeing that in some wallpaper, too.

4. Accent lighting. People are using a lot more accent lighting in their decor.

5. Modern farmhouse style. We've heard every year for the last few years that this is going out of style, but we still see it. I read an article recently on Realtor.com that was very interesting. While they said it wasn't necessarily going out of style, it is being replaced by what they called Cottagecore. Now, I had to do some research to figure out what on earth Cottagecore is, and from what I could tell from the pictures that I saw, I think it's similar to the modern farmhouse design, just with a little bit more of that vintage look, maybe more of what we called a few years ago shabby chic.

As always, if you're looking to get your home ready for the market, I would keep the staging and design trends of your home more traditional and in more of a neutral palette. So if you need some advice on how to get your home staged, please call or email us. Thanks a lot, and I look forward to talking with you more in 2023.
